Artist Biography
Rachelle Ymay Skilling is a Calgary-based visual artist whose contemporary, geometric art explores visual narratives about motherhood, caregiving, and domestic life. A graduate of Alberta University of the Arts, she has exhibited at various galleries in Alberta, such as the Art Gallery of Alberta, GM Gallery and The Lebel Gallery. Her graphic memoir narratives and zines have been published by Mutha Magazine, Demeter Press, and Inservice Comics. Rachelle is a juried member of the Alberta Society of Artists and a member of Panel One Comics Society. Rachelle enjoys sharing her passion for the arts by facilitating workshops with Panel One at Sparrow Artspace or at various non-profits such as CARYA and bb4ck, with a focus on graphic memoir narratives.
